JOINING INSTRUCTION OF CTC,CRPF, COIMBATORE (T.N)

1. Central Reserve Police Force.

The Central Reserve Police Force was raised on 27th July 1939 as Crown Representative Police with just one battalion to quell the revolt against British India. Realising the importance of its continuance as powerful arms of the government and its unique charactiristic of mini India, the Crown Representative Police had been re-cristened as the Central Reserve Police in 1949 with the sole initiative of the then Dy. Prime Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai patel. Now it is the world’s largest CAPF (Central Armed Police Force) with 245 Bn and over 3.5 lakh personnel serving day and night to safe guard and maintain the internal security of the Nation with the mission. . . . .

The mission of CRPF shall be to enable the Government to maintain rule of law, Public order and Internal security effectively and efficiently, to preserve national integrity and promote social harmony and development by upholding supremacy of the constitution.

In performing these tasks with utmost regard for human dignity and freedom of the citizens of india, the force shall endeavour to achieve excellence in management of internal security and national calamities by placing service and loyality above self.

2. CTC, Coimbatore.

Central Training College-Coimbatore, CRPF came into existence on 1st September, 1969 at Avadi (Tamilnadu), Between 1975 and 1997, the institution shifted to several places such as Neemuch(MP), Deoli (Raj), back to Avadi and finally to Coimbatore on 1stMay 1997. This institution is located in a sprawling and picturesque campus on the foothills of the Nilgiris. Within a very short span, since its establishment at the new location, the College has developed itself as a Premier Training Institution of the Force with no looking behind.

This Institute is having all the facilities to impart purposeful training within its own land of 400 acre.

4. General Information

Central Training College, Coimbatore, CRPF is located at a distance of about 17 km from Coimbatore Railway Station and 31 kms from Coimbatore Airport on the Coimbatore Mettupalayam Road, spread over an area of 400 acres of land on the foothills of Kurudampalayam Ridge which is on the Nilgiri mountain Ranges. The college campus is situated about 3 Km away from the Ooty-Mettupalayam Road amidst calm and serene surroundings which are most suitable for imparting all types of training. Coimbatore Rly. Station falls on the main trunk line and all trains from Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore towards Kerala pass through this Junction. Regular bus services from the railway station are available towards Thoppampatti/ Rackipalayam.

5. How to Reach

a) From Coimbatore Railway Station

The Central Training College, CRPF, Coimbatore is located at a distance of 17 Km from Railway Station on Coimbatore - Mettupallayamroad on NH 67. The road map as given below may help to reach the location comfortably

b) From Coimbatore Airport

The CTC is located at about 31 Km from Coimbatore Airport.

c) Conveyance

Conveyance from Railway Station and airport will be provided by this Institution

Railway Station Airport
One Bus and One 1 tonner will remain parked at Railway Station from 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1400 hrs till 2100 hrs. One Bus and One 1 tonner will remain parked at Airport from 0900 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1400 hrs till 2000 hrs.

Note:

Trainee will have to use local conveyance to reach this location if they fail to report within the time

6. Climate

The temperature in Coimbatore is very moderate throughout the year. However, the best time to visit the place is from September to March.

  • Winters (December to February) are not very cold with the minimum temperature rarely touches 15 °C and maximum never crossing 33 °C.
  • Summers (March to May) are bit hot touching about 40 °C but the light cool wind flows through the city, makes the season pleasant. Travellers for trade frequently visit during this season.
  • Monsoons (June to August) are strong here due to the presence of mountain pass. Tourists preferably avoid rainy days.

September to March is ideal for all kinds of tourist activities including sightseeing, shopping and spending leisure time at the beaches.

8. Role of CTC CBE

CTC-CBE is one of the premier training Institutions of CRPF which has been making concerted efforts to provide adequate organizational base to the training system and strengthening the force by imparting training to personnel at various levels.

09. Reception

RPs in uniform will be deputed at Railway Station to guide the trainees. All trainees should report two days prior to the commencement of course.

14. Families

Trainees are not permitted to bring or keep their families during the period of the course.

15. Leave

No leave will be granted during the course except on extreme compassionate grounds.

16. Withdrawal of Trainees

All will ensure that only eligible and suitable personnel are detailed to attend course. Personnel who do not conform to the laid down qualitative requirements or found unable to assimilate the subject of the course are liable to be returned to their respective location.

Trainees who are medically unfit, suffering from illness or unable to cope up with the training will be returned to their respective location. Trainees found lacking in discipline will be subject to disciplinary action, withdrawal from course and returned to respective location. Late reporting trainees will be returned to unit without further query.

19. Hospital

10 Bedded station Hospital available at this institution.

20. Discipline

All trainees are supposed to maintain high standard of discipline. Trainees will strictly adhere to the orders regulating discipline in the college. Consumption of liquor, lending and borrowing of money is strictly forbidden. Trainees will be permitted to go on out pass on Sundays and Holidays only. The villages adjoining the campus and residential areas of Officers, sub-ordinate officers and other ranks are out of bound for all trainees.

The Objective of the course is to develop one sniper per unit to achieve operational upper hand . 04( weeks( Capacity –30 )

IX. Navigational Skill Course
To prepare a pool of navigators for training institutions proficient in field navigational skill with latest navigational trends, in order to enhance the operational capabilities of the troops. 08Weeks 60 Trainees

    1. Preferably Science or geography back ground
    2. Minimum Edu. Qualification-10+2 Willing.
    3. Having basic computer knowledge.

    5. Candidates who have applied/voluntary retirement from service and who are due for superannuation within 05 years should not be detailed

XI.Shooting Skill Course
To improve the accuracy of a good shooter to the level of a "Marksman” by adopting the art and science of precision shooting. It will develop the required skill and improve the confidence of the firer in operational situations. 04weeks ,(Capacity-60) CT/GD To SI GD

  2. Only candidates whose firing skill are found good during ARCF, be detailed.

  5. Pre course training should be arranged at unit level for 01 week to familiarize the trainee with the course.
  6. Screening test as per eligibility criteria of both the detailed and reserve candidates of units should be assessed at sector level before sending candidates in course.

  1. CTs up to 30 Years, SOs and HCs up to 45 Years of age are eligible for this course.
  2. Detailing personnel should have smart bearing and aptitude for instructional duties

  1. TO Provide the knowledge & Skills required to handle CBRN emergencies along with first aid skills, Rescue methods during building collapse and Flood rescue techniques.
04 weeks(Capacity-30 Sub Inspector to Inspector Below 45 yrs old Dress Code :- The dress code during the course will as follows.
  1. Working uniform with barret cap
  2. PT Dress
  3. Camouflage dress/overall/dangri for outdoor demo/Exercises.
Note:- Also bring peak-Cap for opening ceremony & Photo session.Special Instructions:-
  1. SHAPE-I Category participants only eligible to attend the course and they must bring their health card or related medical documents for proof.
  2. The participants should bring 2 passport size photos for filling bio-dat and documentation.
  3. The participants are required to bring swimming trunks as they are required to enter in swimming pool for water rescue classes.
  4. The participants should bring sufficient stationary/writing materials.
  5. The participants should bring their mess advance.
Miscellaneous:- The climatic conditions of Coimbatore do not permit wearing of angola shirts. The trainees, therefore need not bring angola shirts
XIV. DM/CBRN Orientation Course For Comdt. & 2-IC
b) To acquaint with the Senior officers about the Role of incident commander to handle any type of disaster in their deployed area 06 Days(Capacity-30 Commandant & 2-IC Accommodation:- The Officers will be accommodated in GO’s Mess Annexe Building (Kavery Hostel) The Mess Timings are as follows- Breakfast : 0815 to 0900 Hrs Lunch : 1330 to 1430 Hrs Dinner : 2030 to 2130 Hrs Mess Discipline:- The Officers are expected to observe Mess discipline and service Etiquettes. Dress code :- The dress code during the course will as follows:- Morning Class Room Session:-
  1. Working uniform with barrette cap.
  2. Civil dress with Tie(On Thursday)
  3. Camouflage dress/overall/ dangri for outdoor demo/Exercises.
Note:- Also bring peak –Cap for opening ceremony & photo session. Evening Class Room session:- Track suits, shorts and T according to weather with sports shoesGames:- Badminton, Table Tennis. Special instructions:-
  1. It is desirable that Officers bring their laptop which aids in the preparation of presentation.
  2. Officers are not permitted to bring their families unless previous permission is taken
  3. No leave will be granted during the course.
  4. The Officers should bring 2 Passport size photos for filling bio-data and documentation
  5. Officers are required to bring swimming trunks as they are required to enter in swimming pool for water rescue classes.
  6. Officers coming for subject course should bring their buddies for assistance during various exercises like casualty evacuation water rescue etc.

XV. DM/CBRN Orientation Course For Comdt. & 2-IC

Accommodation:- The Officers will be accommodated in GO’s Mess Annexe Building (Kavery Hostel) The Mess Timings are as follows:- Breakfast : 0815 to 0900 Hrs Lunch : 1330 to 1430 Hrs Dinner : 2030 to 2130 HrsMess Discipline:- The Officers are expected to observe Mess discipline and service Etiquettes. Dress code :- The dress code during the course will as follows:- Morning Class Room Session:-

To make participant as a First Responder to handle CBRN emergencies along with First aid skills ,Rescue method during building collapse and Flood, Rope Rescue 06 Weeks(Capacity-30 ASI,HC & CT Below 50 Years Dress Code:- The dress code during the course will as follows:-

  2. P.T. Dress
  3. Camouflage dress/overall/dangri for outdoor demo/Exercises
Note:- Also bring Peak-Cap and hackle-Cap for SOs and other ranks respectively for opening ceremony & Photo session. Special instructions:-
  1. 1. SHAPE-I Category participants only eligible to attend the course and they must bring their health card or related medical documents for proof
  2. The participants should bring 02 passport size photos for filling bio-dat and documentation
  3. The participants are required to bring swimming trunks as they are required to enter in swimming pool for water rescue classes.
  4. The participants should bring sufficient stationary/writing materials.
  5. The participants should bring their mess-advance.
Miscellaneous:- The climatic conditions of Coimbatore do not permit wearing of angola shirts. The trainees therefore ,need not bring angola shirts.

To make proficient as a First Responder with the Skills & Knowledge based on First aid & Rescue method during building collapse. 06 Weeks(Capacity-30 To be detailed by NDRF(CT TO Officers) Accommodation: The Officers will be accommodated in GO’s Mess Annexe Building ( Hostel),SO’s in Pothigai Barrack and Pallawan Barrack for other ranks The Mess timings are as follows:- Breakfast :- 0745 to 0815 Hrs Lunch : 1300 to 1400 Hrs Dinner : 1930 to 2030 Hrs Mess Discipline:- The Officers,SO’s and OR’s are expected to observe Mess discipline and service Etiquettes Dress code:- The dress code during the course will as follows. Morning Class Room Session:-
  1. Working uniform with barrette Cap
  2. Camouflage dress/overall/dangri for outdoor demo /Exercise
