Central Training College (Telecom& Information Technology) CRPF, Ranchi Jharkhand formerly known as SGC/CTC (Telecom), came into existence in 1970 at Neemuch (M.P).
The history of CTC(T&IT) goes back to October 1952 when signal contingent of 112 personnel was put through wireless training at "Adhoc Wireless Training Centre” Neemuch. In November 1954 Radio operator basic course was started. In June 1970, it was upgraded to Central Training College (Telecom). The increased sophistication and enhanced responsibility led to the decision for move of Signal Group Centre/ Central Training College (Telecom) from Neemuch to Ranchi during December 1986. Further to make it a premier training center, Signal group Centre was abolished in 2006 andCentral Training College (Telecom& Information Technology)started functioning independently as a training institute par excellence of the force.

4.Computer Training for officers and other personnel.
5.Training to Network Administrator and Hardware maintenance personnel.
6.Training on handling GPS/GIS, Sat. Phone etc.
7.Training to other state and Central force personnel in communication and IT.
8.Training to personnel nominated by other countries as per MOU.
The college had come a long way from its humble beginning of imparting only Basic training for operators and technician to the premier institution of country for police telecommunication and IT. The institute has 04 state -of -the- art computer labs, besides smart class rooms with interactive multimedia boards with modern amenities. About 2000 trainees are trained every year on various aspects of communication and information technology.
Beside this in present scenario, due to pandemic (Covid-19) this institute quickly adopted to organizing online classes on various communication equipment’s, computers and related field etc.
E-learning platform of this institution has developed, open source-based E- Learning platform as LMS for all the course administration, tutorials, trainee’s assessment, E-library, Video lectures and other study materials
State -of -the -art technical project on information technology as well as field communication have been developed by this institution such as 1) LMS 2) VMS 3) CMS 4) E-Learning Software etc.

The team of dedicated instructors of this institute have been always praise worth.
In this endeavor we are constantly guided by Sh. Syed Mohammad HasnainIGP (Comn) who has shared his personal expertise. The Communication sector, Signal Range and Signal Units have regularly given significant support to the institution. CRPF Directorate, All Zones, Sectors and officers of the Force have provided unstinted support time to time.
The development of training provided by our faculty members and experts from outside is envisaged in keeping with the vision and mission of this premier institution.
