Srinagar Sector HQ is located at Brein Nishat, Srinagar, UT of Jammu and Kashmir. It started functioning in 2005. Srinagar Sector CRPF has operational jurisdiction over three districts of Central Kashmir Region i.e Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal and Union Territory of Ladakh. 02 Ranges, 22 Battalions and 03 Mahila companies are deployed under the operational control of Srinagar Sector. Further, Srinagar Sector has administrative control over Group Centre Srinagar and 05 executive Battalions deployed in different operational theatres of the country.
Kashmir Sector CRPF was established with operational jurisdiction over whole of Kashmir valley and Ladakh in 1990. In 2005, Kashmir Sector was bifurcated into Srinagar Sector and Kashmir (Ops) Sector for effective operational management. Srinagar Sector came into existence on 21st March 2005.
Shri Pawan Kumar Sharma is presently the IG Srinagar Sector CRPF.
