The Ops units of North West Sector, CRPF, continue to play a pivotal role in maintaining internal security, Jail security and ensuring the safety of critical establishments. Our personnel remain committed to upholding law and order with utmost professionalism and dedication.
High-Security Zone deployment ensures stringent perimeter security, preventing any unauthorized access and enhancing vigilance around the facility. CRPF personnel conduct regular joint search operations with jail authorities to detect and seize contraband items that could pose a serious threat to prison security and personnel safety.
The relentless efforts and proactive approach of CRPF personnel have significantly curbed illegal activities inside jails, ensuring a secure and controlled environment in these high-risk zones.
Ensuring the safety of prominent dignitaries is a crucial responsibility of the CRPF. North West Sector, CRPF plays a vital role in VIP security operations in Punjab and Chandigarh.
With a highly trained and dedicated team, our personnel ensure round-the-clock protection, threat assessment, and strategic deployment to maintain the highest standards of security. The unwavering vigilance and professionalism of our troops reinforce public confidence and national security.
Chandigarh Range acts as nodal agency for VIP Security Units, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of security measures. The North West Sector, CRPF, oversees overall supervision, ensuring a well-structured and effective security framework in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal and UT of Chandigarh.
The Kisan Agitation-II (2024-25) was one of the most significant law and order challenges in recent times. Farmers staged Dharna at Shambhu Border and Khinori Border (Punjab-Haryana Border) towards Punjab side for more than a year.
To ensure peaceful protests and prevent any untoward incidents, security forces were actively deployed in the region. Farmers intermittently attempted to march towards Delhi.
Operating under the Sonepat Range, CRPF carried out their duties with discipline and vigilance in order to assist the civil police with a well-coordinated security response.
Our personnel remained committed to maintaining public order, prevented disruptions, and ensured security while upholding democratic rights.
The North West Sector, CRPF, played a significant role in ensuring the peaceful and secure conduct of elections across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and UT of Chandigarh through strategic force deployment and real-time monitoring.
Punjab State Elections – 2022
During the Punjab State Elections in 2022, the North West Sector (NWS), CRPF, served as the State Force Coordinator, overseeing the deployment of 700 companies of CAPFs across the state. Key measures included:
Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections – 2022
For the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections in 2022, 15 CRPF companies were deployed to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process. Our personnel played a key role in:
Haryana State Assembly Elections – 2024
During the Haryana State Assembly Elections in 2024, a total of 40 CRPF companies were deployed to ensure a safe and fair electoral process.
Through strategic deployment, seamless coordination, and continuous monitoring, the North West Sector, CRPF, remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding democracy and ensuring peaceful elections across the country.
The North West Sector, CRPF, played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, free, and fair conduct of the General Parliamentary Elections – 2024 by coordinating and overseeing the deployment of CAPF/CRPF companies across multiple states.
Chandigarh
A total of 11 companies were deployed in Chandigarh, including 04 CRPF companies.
North West Sector (NWS), CRPF, was designated as the Force Coordinator for managing security arrangements and deployment.
Punjab
A massive deployment of 295 CAPF companies was made to maintain law and order during elections.
54 CRPF companies were deployed across sensitive and critical zones.
NWS acted as the Nodal Officer for the deployment and operational coordination of CRPF units in Punjab.
Haryana
A total of 13 CRPF companies were deployed across Haryana.
Range Sonepat was designated as the Nodal Agency for coordinating CRPF deployment and operations.
Himachal Pradesh
70 CAPF companies were deployed in Himachal Pradesh for election duties.
CRPF personnel ensured incident-free and secure polling across the state.
Through strategic planning, seamless force coordination, and continuous monitoring, the North West Sector, CRPF, ensured that the General Parliamentary Elections – 2024 were conducted in a peaceful, fair, and secure manner, reinforcing public confidence in the democratic process.
Administrative Achievements
Implementation of Vehicle Scrapping Policy
In the year 2024, North West Sector, CRPF, successfully declared 113 vehicles as condemned and approved them for disposal under the Vehicle Scrappage Policy of the Government of India. This initiative was undertaken in line with the Government’s commitment to phasing out old and unfit vehicles, thereby promoting eco-friendly disposal methods, reducing environmental pollution, and enhancing operational efficiency.
This step not only aligns with the Government’s sustainability goals but also ensures that CRPF continues to maintain a robust and efficient transportation system, thereby enhancing its operational readiness.
As part of the annual afforestation initiative mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), North West Sector, CRPF, meticulously monitored and ensured the achievement of tree plantation targets of over 02 lakh sapplings across all institutions under its jurisdiction. This initiative aligns with the Government’s vision of environmental sustainability and ecological conservation.
The plantation drive focused on enhancing green cover, improving air quality, and promoting biodiversity, while also fostering awareness about environmental conservation among personnel.
This achievement underscores the Sector’s commitment to sustainable development and climate action, ensuring a greener and healthier environment for future generations.

National Games
The Central Teams, currently camping at 51 Bn CRPF, Chandigarh and GC Jalandhar showcased outstanding performances, demonstrating exceptional skill, endurance, and teamwork, not only won All India Police Championships but they won hearts also.
The players showcased exceptional talent and determination at the 38th National Games UKD-2025, held from 1st to 5th February 2025. Five of our Central Water Sports athletes brought laurels to the Force by securing medals in their respective categories.
