CRPF is one of the largest Paramilitary force of the World. CRPF troops are fighting insurgency in the North East, terrorism in J&K and Naxal menace in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. CRPF is also in forefront in fighting communal disturbances, providing assistance during natural disasters and conducting of free and fair elections across the country. CRPF has not only proved its mettle within the country but also has been successful in overseas deployment under various UN Peace Keeping Missions and also as a part of IPKF in Srilanka. CRPF has played active role on borders in all the wars since Independence.
During the course of duties, many of our brave soldiers have made supreme sacrifices and also many of the brave hearts have sustained grievous injuries and lost their limbs. The NCDE (National Centre for Divyang Empowerment) has been established with a vision and mission to provide succourto such soldiers. NCDE has state of art and specially designed accommodation for Divyang Warriors. A modern IT lab , well equipped prosthetic centre and modern para sports facilities have been made available at NCDE. IT courses are conducted in collaboration with reputed institutions like, BITS Pilani and IIIT HYD. NCDE has services of Psychologist, Prosthetist, Orthotist , Physiotherapist and a team of medical officers and Paramedical staff to look after special needs of Divyang Warriors.
Training in Para sports not only builds self confidence in Divyang Warriors but also make them ready for various National and International Para sports events. So far NCDE has conducted seven batches of Skill development training to 150 Divyangs of CRPF and other forces. Further ten Divyang Warriors were given advanced training in collaboration with IIIT HYD. Till date six Divyang Warriors have participated in Para sports events and won Six-Gold, Three-Silver and One-Bronze Medal. Further twenty Divyang Warriors have been provided with Prosthetic and Sports limbs at the centre.
This endeavour of CRPF is taking care of its Divyang Warriors, will go in a long way in boosting the morale of the troops working on the ground. CRPF troops will be assured that CRPF family is with them to guide, train and assist in hour of their needs.
