RTC Amethi is located at UP State industrial development corporation, Trishundi, Amethi. Institution spreads over 199 acre and GC Amethi has 165 acre of land. Both are co-located and lies on NH 330, (Prayagraj-Balrampur Highway). Pratapgarh and Sultanpur are nearby cities and railway stations too approx 18 KM and 21 KM respectively. Both railway stations are well connected with major cities of the country. Gauriganj is district administrative HQ and is approx 30 KM from the institution. Institution is well connected by road. Lucknow, Allahabad and Varanasi have airport having connectivity with major cities, approx 170 KM, 90 KM and 190 KM respectively from the institution.

Brief History

Amethi is 72nd district of the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India and came into existence on 1st July 2010 by merging three tehsil of erstwhile Sultanpur district namely Amethi, Gauriganj and Musafirkhana and two tehsil of the erstwhile Raebareli district, namely Salin and Tiloi. District Amethi lies at the latitude 26o 9’ north and longitude 81o 49’ east at an average elevation of 101 meters (331 feet) from mean sea level. The district is bounded by Faizabad on the north, Pratapgarh on the south, Barabanki and Raebareli on west and Sultanpur on the east. This district is part of Faizabad division and Gauriganj is administrative HQ of the district. Also called as Raipur-Amethi, of which Raipur belongs to Raja of Amethi, who lived at Ram Nagar. His ancestors used to live in Raipur-Phulwari, where the old fort is still found. Amethi is also famous for the temple called hanumangarhi and a mosque. Both built about hundred years ago. About three kilometers north of Amethi, there is a tomb of famous poet, saint Malik Muhammad Jayasi.

Topography and Climate

The land of Amethi district is generally plane except some regions around the Gomti river. It is an agrarian area as agriculture is the main occupation of the people. Amethi district has a wet and dry climate. Amethi experiences three distinct seasons i.e summer, monsoon and the winter. Typical summer months are from March to May with maximum temperatures from 36oC to 46oC. The rainy season of the district falls between June to September and July, being the wettest month of the year. Winter starts from November, the daytime temperature about 22oC where as night temperature is bellow 8oC during December and January.
