It is a matter of immense pleasure and pride that I have got the opportunity to be the part of the India's prestigious RAF Academy For Public Order and to provide leadership to this premium institute, working in the arena of public order management.
Police personnel from International police organizations and personnel from Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Railway Protection Force and various state police organizations have been trained in the multifarious aspects of POM by this Academy. More than 19000 force personnel have received quality training within a short span of time since inception. Apart from discharging the sacred duty of training, this academy is also promoting effective research and development work in the various dimensions and techniques of public order management and crowd control.
New and dynamic challenges are rapidly emerging at national and International level while maintaining public order. Therefore, according to the ever changing nature of these challenges, the security forces must always be ready and alert to bring effective changes in the ways of dealing with them.
This academy is committed to impart qualitative, effective and relevant training to police/force personnel and to engage in research and development initiatives in the domain of public order management as per the academy motto- "KNOWLEDGE IS THE SUPREME POWER"
As the Principal of the Academy, I am determined to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees, to upgrade quality in research and development work and to take this academy forward to achieve the ideal objective of "serving humanity with sensitive policing.
