It is an honour for me to take over as IG, Manipur & Nagaland Sector of CRPF. Since its inception, Manipur & Nagaland Sector has played a pivotal role in maintaining peace in the states of Manipur and Nagaland and also stood behind the State Govts. in carrying out numerous developmental activities in the region. This Sector has the administrative supervision of 05 GD Battalions deployed across the Country, Range Imphal, Ops Range Kohima, GC Imphal, CH Imphal and also operational supervision over 08 Bns deployed in Manipur & Nagaland (06 in Manipur and 02 in Nagaland) performing multifarious duties.
Due to the untiring efforts and steadfast commitments shown by CRPF in this hilly region, the overall security scenario has been improved to a large extent over the years and many insurgent groups who were very much active in Manipur & Nagaland States surrendered and also entered into a peace keeping agreement with the State Govts. Further, in order to gain the confidence and have good rapport with local people, this Sector has successfully conducted various civic action programs in different regions besides various other welfare oriented activities during the time of nationwide lockdown in COVID-19 as well as during flood and other natural calamities. All required assistance is also being provided by the CRPF to the civilian population from time to time on need basis.
The men and officers of the units under this Sector have displayed high sense of commitment and courage over the years to keep the flag of CRPF flying high. I am sure they will continue to exhibit the same sense of responsibility and excel in their future endeavor as well in Manipur & Nagaland States.
