Office of the Special DG, North East Zone, CRPF, Guwahati was sanctioned by MHA on 06.10.2008 and started functioning w.e.f. 16.12.2009.

History

Office of the Special DG, North East Zone, CRPF, Guwahati was sanctioned by MHA on 06.10.2008 and started functioning w.e.f. 16.12.2009. Since no permanent land was allotted for the setting up of NEZ HQ Office, so initially it started functioning at Transit Camp-Ambari Guwahati. Later it was shifted to Group Centre Guwahati and old Kendriya Vidyalaya School Building inside the premise of Group Centre CRPF Guwahati was allotted temporarily for North East Zone HQrs. The building was renovated and officially inaugurated on the 14th of January 2011 by Shri Subhash Joshi, IPS, SDG NE Zone.
