Central Reserve Police Force, the premier internal security agency has been entrusted with the task of anti naxal operations in the State of Chhattisgarh since 2003. To provide momentum to the operations, an Ops Sector was created in the year 2010 which was upgraded as an independent Sector in 2012. At present, 31 GD BNs, 1 Basatariya Bn. and 6 CoBRA BNs are deployed in the State where the troops are working to bring peace and normalcy in the region.
The Sector HQ is located at Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur and 06 Ops. Ranges have been established at Raipur, Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Bijapur, Sukma and Konta under respective DIGs. Logistics support to the troops is provided by two Group Centres, Raipur and Bilaspur. To provide quality medical facilities to the troops and their families, two 50 – bedded Composite Hospitals have been established at Bilaspur and Karanpur. In the core Naxal area, 06 Field Hospitals provide immediate medical care to the troops in times of emergency.
In addition to the core Anti Naxal Operations, the CRPF personnel are actively involved in social up liftment activities such as Civic Action Programmes (CAP), Literacy Campaigns, Tree Plantation drives, Medical Camps in interior areas etc. Thus, CRPF jawans have projected the positive face of this great force.
During the anti naxal operations, some of the brave CRPF soldiers have laid down their lives and attained martyrdom. We pay homage to the brave hearts and pledge to establish normalcy and peace in this region.
