It is an honour and privilege for me to command the Southern Zone of CRPF.
Since its inception in 2011, the Southern Zone, one amongst four strategic zones of CRPF, has achieved significant milestones which are direct outcome of strengthened processes and streamlined procedures. With 03 Sectors, 07 Ranges and 09 Group Centres spread over a dozen states and UTs, mainly in southern region, the operational jurisdiction of Southern Zone encompasses more than one third geographical area of the country. Majority of its combat units are deployed in challenging theatres of J&K, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Maharashtra. With ever evolving security dynamics in the country our responsibilities have increased manifold. In addition to ensuring operational preparedness of units, through effective human resource management and robust logistic support, we remain resolved towards technological advancements and digitalization. Being the most experienced and continuously evolving Force, we have rich repository of human knowledge and institutional memory for future accomplishments.
As part of social outreach curriculum, we undertake a variety of civic action programs and confidence building measures in the conflict zones, encouraging the public at large and youth in particular, to relate and assimilate with the mainstream.
I exhort all the commanders and personnel of the Southern Zone, to keep toiling for excellence and furthering the great legacy of the Force.
