RTC Jodhpur was initially started at Suratgarh on 01/09/2014 and further shifted to jodhpur on 15/07/19 . This RTC is situated in Jodhpur city which is the Capital of Marwar region of Rajasthan and entry gate of Thar desert. Jodhpur is south west part of Rajasthan and is a second biggest city of Rajasthan.
Jodhpur is the historical city of India during middle era. It was the capital of Marwar Kingdom and was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a Rajput chief of the Rathore clan. Jodhpur state historically known as the kingdom of Marwar. It was a kingdom of Marwar region fm 1226-1818 and a princely state under British rule from 1818 -1947. Rao jodha , Rao maldeo, Rao Chandra sen , Raja Udai singh, Gaj singh , Maharaja Jaswant singh , Ajit singh , Man singh ,Umaid singh were the most famous ruler of the kingdom.
Initially Mandore served as the capital of kingdom. By 1459 Jodhpur was established as capital of Marwar kingdom by Rao jodha
The Rathore enjoyed good relation with all Mughals except Aurangzab. After death of Aurangzab Maharaja Ajeet singh drove out Mughals from Ajmer and added it to Marwar (now Jodhpur).
Under reign of Maharaja Umaid singh Jodhpur grew into fine modern city
Jodhpur was the largest state in Rajputana in terms of land area at the time of the Biritish Raj and continued to prosper as did the Marwaris who were the Merchants of that time. When India achieved independence in 1947, the state joined union of India.
The city is also known as Sun city and Blue city.

The aim of RTC Jodhpur is to Impart basic training to recruits to become fine soldiers and to perform duties in LWE/Naxal area ,J&K region and N&E region and other assigned duties by GOI.
Presently 14th batch of recruits basic training is running here with the capacity of 1153 recruits.
