Motto of this Institution is "Siddhirbhavati Karmaja”.It means
Objective of this Institution is to mould Recruits physically and mentally fit by imparting training on various disciplines such as Physical endurance training, Drills, BOAC, UAC, Handling & Firing of various flat and high trajectory weapons along with support weapons, IEDs, new modern navigational gadgets like GPS, Orux & Maverick Apps to tackle various Internal Security challenges.
Another integral part of training is to transform them to "Jungle warriors” by imparting 04 weeks of Jungle Camp training covering all aspects like FC. BC, Tactics & CIOPs simulation exercises with main focus to tackle Naxal menace. This Institution is also focusing to bring out attitudinal changes among recruits by systematic learning methods.
Recruits Training Centre, CRPF, Peringome (known as RTC-III till 01/08/2007) started its functioning at Pallipuram, Trivandrum on Adhoc basis with effect from 9th June 1986. It was subsequently granted regular status w.e.f. 1st December 1986 vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs letter No. O.IV-4/86-Org (CRPF)-FP-IV dated 22/10/1986 by sharing accommodation and training area with GC CRPF Pallipuram till 31/07/2007.
Govt. of Kerala has allotted 275 acres of land free of cost for establishing RTC at Peringome, Distt. Kannur, Kerala which was taken over on December 28th,, 2000 and started its full-fledged functioning w.e.f. 1st August 2007. This Institute is capable to train 1500 recruits at a time.
Kannur is the largest city of North Malabar region with a population of 1,642,892 in 2011. It is also known as "The crown of Kerala” because of its natural treasures edged by the Western Ghats in the east, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts in the south, Lakshadweep Sea in the west and Kasaragod in the north. Kannur is popularly known as "The city of Looms and Lores” because of the loom industries functioning in the district and ritualistic folk arts called Theyyam held in temples. Kannur has rich culture, history and traditions that are often connected with many scholars and legends from this region. Kannur is of great strategic military importance which is one of the 62 military cantonments in the country and is the headquarters of the Defence Security Corps and Territorial Army’s 122 Infantry Battalion (part of the Madras Regiment). The Indian Naval Academy (INA) is 35 km north of Kannur City. It is Asia's largest and the world's third-largest naval academy.
Since the camp is located nearby Arabian sea, the climatic condition is hot and humid during most part of the year. During the months from June to October pleasant weather with an average temperature (Min 25.6 ˚ & Max 29.5˚) inside the camp. It has an extended Monsoon rainfall season from May to October. (Average rain fall is 291 mm). Camp has dry periods from December to March on average, the warmest month is May and the coolest month is August. July is the wettest month & February is the driest month.
This Recruits Training Centre is located at Peringome -Vayakkara village in Payyanur Block in Kannur District of Kerala State. It belongs to North Kerala Division. It is located 52 KM towards North from District headquarters, Kannur.23 KM from Payyanur. 530 KM from State capital Thiruvananthapuram. Taliparamba, Cherupuzha, Payyannur, are the nearby Cities to this institution. Recruits Training Centre Peringome is well connected by rail, road and by air. Nearest Railway station is Payyanur (23 Km) and Airport is Kannur (64 Km), Calicut (167 km) in Kerala, and Mangalore (120 Km).

1. Segregation of weak performers in initial stage of training to achieve benchmark by imparting extra training to them by skilled trainers in respective subjects. 2. Conducting Computer classes for trainers and trainees to improve their knowledge over modern gadgets. 3. Theme of the year of this Institution are as under-
1. Trainees are made to visit places of historical and tourism importance to give exposure to trainees about Cultural, Heritage and other aspects. 2. To improve tactical knowledge by way of recreational method, War movies are shown to trainees in Air-conditioned Cinema theatre, which at the same time develops Patriotism/ Professionalism. 3. Monthly meeting of the supporting staff (Adm Staff) with the HOO is scheduled every month for effective administrative support. 4. Nurturing the ecosystem: - the terrain of Institute is laterite based & very tough for vegetation growth. Even then consistent efforts and hard work have been done by this Institute to propagate the new vegetation as well as in conserving the existing one. This is the reason, we have various rare specious of flora like mangroves etc. and rich fauna like wild boar, porcupine, peacock, wild hen, mongoose, hare etc. 5. Monthly publication of "Glitter” magazine to inculcate the habit of writing articles and improve thought process by the trainers, trainees and family members. 6. Research and Development cell of this Institution carry out activities such as bringing new ideas to improve training which covers submission of Research Papers by the staff, publication of News Letters and Glitter magazine, recording of training activities and making of training films, running of various club activities, updating websites and twitter account of RTC Peringome. 7.
