BRIEF HISTORY OF CIAT-3 SCHOOL, CHITTOOR
Counter insurgency and anti-terrorism school, CRPF, Chittoor has been sanctioned on 16th January 2014 to impart specialized training on counter insurgency and anti-terrorism. CIAT-3 started function from 15th sep-14 at Avadi and shifted to Ambikapur from 19/08/2015 to 10/05/17 and finally shifted to its KLP at Kalikiri Chittoor (A.P) from 11/05/17.

Location:-
CIAT-03, School, is located at distance of 05 Kms from Railway station Kalikiri, Chittoor (Dist).A.P on NH-71. The culture of Kalikiri is mixture of Rayalaseema and Dravidian cultures. The town is famous for tomatoes.
Key Features:-
Ø Spread over 175 acres land under the shadow of rocky hill.
Ø Approx. 95 km away from TirupatiBalaji Temple,
Ø 55 km away from Horsley Hills,
Ø 60 km away from Talakona waterfalls, are some nearby Tourist Places.
How to reach
Ø Approach road. The Kalikiri is well connected by road with regular bus service from Tirupati(75 Kms), Chittoor(80 Kms) and Renigunta (90Kms). It is also having good road transport connectively between Kalikiri- Bengaluru (Approx.180 Kms) and Kalikiri - Chennai(Approx.210 Kms)
Ø Railway Station. The nearest main rail heads are Tirupati and Renigunta which are at a distance of 75 Kms and 90 Kms respectively, for the trainees coming from North India and District HQ Chittoor (80 Kms) and Katpadi (110 Kms) for trainees coming from South India. Kalikari has also got its own railway station but with limited train service.
Climate:
Kalikiri has pleasantly mild and warm weather with average temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius (86 to 95F) and winter aremild cold with moderate temperature between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. Usually summer lasts from March to Sept., with the advent of rainy season in June, followed by sweet winter which lasts till the end of February.
Accommodation and messing: -Trainees will be accommodated in the PF huts and they will dine in the mess.
Recreation: -Games and sports are integral part of training. Facilities for the following games are available in the CIAT-3, Chittoor.

Visitors: - Visitors are not allowed. Only exceptional case with prior permission from Principal/Commandant will be considered.
Medical facilities: - Medical facilities are available in the CIAT-3, School, and Kalikri, Chittoor.
Mess Advance:
Ø All trainees will have to deposit Mess Advance
Ø Officer – Rs. 7000/-
Ø SO’s Trainees Rs. 6000/-
Ø OR’s Trainees Rs. 5000/-
Withdrawal from Training:-
Ø Trainees who do not fulfil the qualitative requirements or found unable to assimilate subjects are liable to be returned to their respective Units.
Ø Trainees who are medically unfit or suffering from any chronic disease shall not be permitted to undergo the course.
Ø Absence from course more than 4 days on any account will lead to withdrawal from Course.
Ø Trainees lacking in discipline shall be withdrawn from the course and returned to their respective Units.
Leave:-
No Leave will be granted during the course except on extreme
Compassionate ground.

DISCIPLINE
Ø All trainees should maintain high standard of discipline.
Ø Trainees will strictly adhere to the orders/regulations of this training
school.
Ø Consumption of liquor, lending and borrowing of money is strictly
Forbidden.
Ø All area of camp except training area is out of bound for all trainees.
Ø Trainees should not bring any valuable items like gold and excess cash along with them.
Ø Trainees associated with indiscipline activity will be subjected to disciplinary action and returned to units prematurely before the completion of the course.
Ø The campus of this CIAT School is declared plastic free zone. Hence trainees are advised not to carry any kind of plastic baggage and also make use of dustbins available at various locations in the campus.
Medical fitness:-
Medical fitness certificate along with latest AME report must be produced on arrival.
General instructions:-
Ø Trainees should bring nominal roll particulars with latest Medical
Category.
Ø The nominal roll particular should be submitted to the Trg. Branch 02 days prior to the commencement of the course.
Ø Personnel reporting late will not be allowed to attend the training session.
Ø Institute will not provide railway warrant for return journey.

BASIC BUGLER COURSE :-

24 Weeks
60 Trainees
Ø CTs/Bug who have completed basic training of 44 Weeks may be detailed after completion of 02 years in the field but before completion of 05 years of service.
Ø Latest medically category fit i.e. SHAPE-I
Ø Authorized full kit according to season.
Ø Bugle and other necessary equipment’s.
Ø Sufficient writing materials.(Music writing note book)
Ø Mufti dress(White Pant/Shirt), white bed sheet, Uniform as per the weather.
BUGLER REFRESHER COURSE :-
Aim & Scope
Ø The aim of the course is to refresh the Constable/Buglers in bugle techniques and various type of bugle calls of the force.
Ø The scope of this course is to increase the level of proficiency and quality of playing all the bugle calls and also to enable them to make music notes.
12 Weeks
a) Senior Constable/Buglers who have qualified Basic Bugler Course. Bugler Refresher course will be mandatory for all buglers before completing of 10 years of service.
b) Medical category SHAPE-1
a) Authorized full kit according to season.
b) Bugles and other required equipment’s.
c) Sufficient writing materials.
d) Mufti dress(White pant/Shirt), White bed sheet & all other required dresses/items which are applicable for training.
QMC COURSE FOR MINISTERIAL STAFF :-
Aim
Books and special Eqpts. Required.
To prepare and enable ASI(M) & HC(M) of the CRPF to work efficiently as Quarter Master Clerk in the Group Centers and Battalions of the Force

COY/OPS WRITER COURSE:-
The aim of the course is to prepare HCs and CTs of the CRPF as Coy & Ops writer for effective discharge of day to day office and Ops related work of a company office and other offices of the force having similar function.
The scope of this course is to impart knowledge and experience on office procedure, Establishment, Accounts, QM & MT, Operational Mobile based Navigational Apps, Computer application and other miscellaneous correspondence..3
08 Weeks
Ø HCs and CTs up to 40 years of age.
Ø Education qualification – Intermediate.
Ø Personnel having aptitude for computer work/office work.
Ø Personnel having basic knowledge of Map Reading.
a)CRPF Act & Rule, GC &Bn Officers manual, Estt. Manual, Funds Manual, Operational Hand Book, Provisioning Manual, CCS (Leave Rules) 1972.
b)GPS (preferably Garmin e-trex), Laptop with licensed version of Terra explorer pro and Google Earth installed, Data Card (Dongle), Android Mobile Phone (Preferably with version 5.0.0 or later) having inbuilt GPS and activated 3G/4G connection.
c)Sufficient writing materials.(i.e. Register-02 Nos. Pen Red/Black/Blue, Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Sketch pen Box, Scale, etc.)
d) Khaki Uniform(Ceremonial)-02 Pair,
CIAT FOR QAT (LWE) UNITS
DRESS AND EQUIPMENTS
Ø To have endurance for long range & multi days ops with full scale.
Ø To analyze terrain by using survey of India map.
Ø To navigate in day & night at any unfamiliar terrain using navigational gadgets.
Ø To Plan an operation using SOI maps & GIS.
Ø To effectively shoot (Shoot to kill) in combat situation.
Ø To Detect and counter IED in LWE infested area.
Ø To develop and sharpen tactical Skill to operate evasively.
Ø To operate/conduct various tactical operations effectively.
Ø To fire area weapons in critical situation (introductory fire).
Ø To explain various knowledge based subject (know your enemy & yourself) related to LWE.
Ø To operate 7 days self sustain exercise in jungle area in combat zone.
Ø To develop team spirit among team personnel.
The duration of the training will be 07 weeks. All teams shall report two days prior to commencement of training, for pre course formalities and acclimatization
i) GOs, SOs must be below 35 years of age.
ii) HCs must be below 40 years of age.
iii) CTs must be below 30 years of age.
iv) Trainee should be SHAPE-I.
i. Two pairs of Combat Dress.
ii. Two pairs of Jungle Shoes & anklets.
iii. Three pairs of Socks.
iv. Light bedding with Mosquito Net.
v. Haver Sack (Pitthu), Magazine pouch and Rucksack.
ARMS/AMMUNITION/EQUIPMENTS as UNDER
Personnel Arms is to be brought by Team/Trainee. Ammunition and explosive for firing practices will be provided by training institute.
FC & TACTICS COURSE
Dress and Equipments
The aim of the training would be to prepare a CTs to SOs physically and mentally to ensure him to understand challenges of operational area and convert him into a competent, confident and efficient soilder, so that they could perform effectively in operational area with the expertness in field craft and tactics.

Note : All trainees coming from/deployed in malaria prone areas must be issued anti-malaria card and anti-malaria kit from respective units/Instns as per latest instructions on the subject. They must be in possession of RDK (RAPID DIAGNOSTIC KIT) and TAB MEFLOQUINE which is to be consumed weekly up to 4 weeks fm the date of leaving malaria prone areas as per instructions.
