JOINING INSTRUCTIONS OF CTC, CRPF, COIMBATORE (TAMIL NADU)
The Central Reserve Police Force was raised on 27thJuly 1939 as Crown Representative Police with just one battalion to quell the revolt against British India. Realising the importance of its continuance as powerful arms of the government and its unique characteristic of mini India, the Crown Representative Police had been re-christened as the Central Reserve Police in 1949 with the sole initiative of the then Dy. Prime Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Now it is the world’s largest CAPF (Central Armed Police Force) with 240 Bn and over 3 lakh personnel serving day and night to safe guard and maintain the internal security of the Force with the mission. . . . .
The mission of CRPF shall be to enable the Government to maintain rule of law, Public order and Internal security effectively and efficiently, to preserve national integrity and promote social harmony and development by upholding supremacy of the constitution.
In performing these tasks with utmost regard for human dignity and freedom of the citizens of india, the force shall endeavour to achieve excellence in management of internal security and national calamities by placing service and loyality above self.
2. CTC, Coimbatore.
Central Training College-Coimbatore, CRPF came into existence on 1st September, 1969 at Avadi (Tamilnadu); Between 1975 and 1997 the institution shifted to several places such as Neemuch(MP), Deoli (Raj), back to Avadi and finally to Coimbatore on 1st May 1997. This institution is located in a sprawling and picturesque campus on the foot hills of the Nilgiris. Within a very short span, since its establishment at the new location, the College has developed itself as a Premier Training Institution of the Force with no looking behind.
This Institute is having all the facilities to impart purposeful training within its own land of 400 acre.

4. General Information
Central Training College, Coimbatore, CRPF is located at a distance of about 17 kms from Coimbatore Railway Station and 31 kms from Coimbatore Airport on the Coimbatore Mettupalayam Road CTC CBE has acquired 400 acres of land on the foot hills of Kurudampalayam Ridge which is on the Nilgiri mountain Ranges. The college campus is situated about 3 Km away from the Ooty-Mettupalayam Road amidst calm and serene surroundings which are most suitable for imparting all types of training. Coimbatore railway station falls on the main trunk line and all trains from Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore towards Kerala pass through this junction. Regular bus services from the railway station are available towards Thoppampatti/ Rackipalayam.

5. How to Reach
a) From Coimbatore Railway Station: -The Central Training College, CRPF, Coimbatore is located at a distance of 17 Kms from Railway Station on Coimbatore - Mettupallayam road on NH 67. The road map as given under may help to reach the
location comfortably
b) From Coimbatore Airport: - The CTC is located at about 31 Kms from Coimbatore Airport.
c) Conveyance: - Conveyance from Railway Station and airport will be provided by this Institution as per timing given under:-

One Bus and One 1 tonner will remain parked at Railway Station from 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1400 hrs till 2100 hrs.

6. Climate : -
The temperature in Coimbatore is very moderate all through the year. However, the best time to visit the place is from September to March.
· Winters (December to February) are not very cold with the minimum temperature rarely touching 15 °C and maximum never crossing 33 °C.
· Summers (March to May) are bit hot touching about 40 °C but the light cool wind flows, makes the season pleasant. Trade travelers frequently visit during this season.
· Monsoons (September to November) are strong here due to the presence of mountain pass. Tourists preferably avoid rainy days.
September to March is ideal for all kinds of tourist activities including sightseeing, shopping and spending leisure time at the beaches.

Trainees are not permitted to bring or keep their families during the period of the course.
16. Leave:-
No leave will be granted during the course except on extreme compassionate grounds.
17. Withdrawal of Trainees:-
All will ensure that only eligible and suitable personnel are detailed to attend course. Personnel who do not confirm to the laid down qualitative requirements or found unable to assimilate the subject of the course are liable to be returned to their respective location.
Trainees who are medically unfit, suffering from illness or unable to cope up with the training will be returned to their respective locations.
Trainees found lacking in discipline will be subject disciplinary action, withdrawal from course and returned to respective location.

All trainees should maintain high standards of discipline. Trainees will strictly adhere to the orders regulating discipline in the college. Consumption of liquor, lending and borrowing of money is strictly forbidden. Trainees will be permitted to go on out pass on Sundays and Holidays only. The villages adjoining the campus and residential areas of Officers, sub-ordinate officers and other ranks are out of bound for all trainees.

07. Junior Leadership Course for SIs/Insps
The aim of the training would be to enhance and revalidate the Leadership qualities of junior level commanders both in administrative as well as operational requirements.
Administrative Aspects:-
v To develop junior level commanders as successful leaders.
v To ensure good discipline, administration efficiency and high morale of junior level commanders to inculcate the same in the men under their command.
v To effectively manage day to day coy affairs.
Operational Aspects :-
v To effectively and efficiently lead a platoon and coy if need arise in all operational theaters.
v To plan, brief and carry out platoon and coy level operations for maximum achievements.
To effectively train men under their command according to the needs of the organizational requirements.

The objective of this course, is to improve the accuracy of a good shooter to the level of a "marksman” by adopting the art and science of precision shooting. It will develop the required skill and improve the confidence of the firer in operational situations.

12. DM/CBRN Orientation Course for Comdt. & 2-I/C
To acquaint it the Senior officers about the Role of incident commander to handle any type of disaster in their deployed area.

Mess Discipline: - The Officers are expected to observe Mess discipline and service Etiquettes.
Morning Class Room Session: -

Evening Class Room session: - Track suits, shorts and T shirts according to weather with sports shoes.

6. Officers coming for subject course should bring their buddies for assistance during various exercises like casualty evacuation water rescue etc.
