Brief of Incident :

01 Section of A/182 Bn and Jammu and Kashmir Police were deployed for Naka duty at Gangoo Crossing, Circular Road, Pulwama on 17/07/2022. During Naka duty at about 1405 hrs, unknown militants opened indiscriminate firing on joint Naka party from the orchard side. Joint Naka party retaliated the firing tactically. During exchange of fire No. 913153799 ASI/GD Vinod Kumar sustained bullet injuries. Despite being injured ASI/GD Vinod Kumar retaliated back bravely and cautiously to minimize the collateral damage and forced militants to flee the area. Thus he was able to save lives of his fellow troops. He was immediately evacuated to District Hospital, Pulwama, where the doctor declared him Brought dead. and he attained Martyrdom on 17/07/2022. Maintaining the highest tradition of CRPF ASI/GD Vinod Kumar displayed raw courage and made the supreme sacrifice in service of the Nation..
