JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Gen. CRPF Academy Welcomes the Trainee Officers on their selection as a Directly Appointed Gazetted Officer (DAGO) in the rank of an Assistant Commandant in the Central Reserve Police Force, the largest Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) of the world. Raised as the Crown Representative Police on 27 July 1939 with one battalion, the CRPF today is the largest CAPF in the world with over 200 battalions. CRPF is the main Force of the union of India entrusted with maintaining and safeguarding the internal security of the Country. The duties performed by the Force span the broadest possible spectrum imaginable. Since its origin as the Crown Representative Police in 1939, the Force has maintained its highest traditions of professionalism and valour.

2. CRPF Academy shall endeavour to impart to you the knowledge, develop in you the skills and attitudes and instill in you the values needed to become an effective leader of such a versatile organisation.

3. Aim. To be a professionally competent officer capable of commanding a company independently in internal security environment.

4. CRPF Academy - History. The foundation stone of CRPF Academy was laid on 23rd March, 2002 by the then Hon’ble Dy. PM and HM Shri L.K. Advani. Academy's Motto is Nation First, Follow Me.

5. Footprints in the Sands of Time.

                        (a) 1961. First batch of 04 DAGOs selected to undergo basic training with IPS probationers at CPTC, Mt Abu.

                        (b) 1966-1975. Training shifted to Neemuch.

                        (c) 1975. Internal Security Academy (ISA) established at Mt Abu.

                        (d) 01 Feb 75. Training shifted to ISA, 14TH being the 1st batch.

                        (e) 2002. MHA approves setting up of CRPF Academy at Gurgaon. work commences.

                        (f) 23 Mar, 2002. Inaugurated by then Dy PM and Home Minister Sh LK Adwani.

                        (g) 18 Oct, 2005. Basic training of commenced and 37th DAGOs batch was the first batch with 179 officers which passed out from CRPF Academy.

6. The Academy.

                         (a) Spread over 308 acres of greens under the shadow of Aravalis.

                         (b) Proximity to Delhi (Dte Genl is 68 kms away).

                         (c) A magnificent training and administrative block named DRONACHARYA BLOCK.

                         (d) The Academy had 200 single and 30 double rooms for trainees & trainers.

                         (e) One of the best Parade Ground.

                         (f) A State of Art world standard 1000 yds Full Bore Shooting Range.

                         (g) A unique back to back 25/50 mtrs Modern Baffle Firing Ranges.

                         (h) Field Firing Range is 80 kms away from the campus at Firozpur Zirka near Alwar.

                         (I) An enthralling 9 Hole Golf Course.

                        (m) A fully equipped gymnasium.

7. How to Reach. The Academy is located near Sector - 56, Gurgaon, Haryana next to village Kadarpur.

                       (a) Approach Road. Academy can be accessed through NH-8 on Sohna Road about 35 KMs south east of Indira Gandhi International Airport.

                       (b) Railway Station. The nearest Railway Station is Gurgaon at a distance of about 20 Kms on Delhi- Jaipur broad gauge railway line.

                       (c) Inter State Bus Terminal. The nearest inter- State bus terminal is Gurgaon located on NH-08 i.e Delhi - Jaipur Highway and is approx 18 Kms from CRPF Academy.

                       (d) Guide Map. A guide route map of Academy from NH-8 is enclosed.

8. Climate. The climate of Gurgaon is akin to that of Delhi. The summers are very hot and winters are very cold. The temperature ranges from 45oC in the summer to 40 C in winter. The winters are marked by mist and fog in the morning. The cold wave from Himalayan region makes the winters very chilly. The average rainfall is 553 mm.

9. Pay and Allowances. Pay and allowances will be admissible as mentioned in the appointment letter in the running pay band of Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus Rs. 5400/- as grade pay. The total starting emoluments has on May’2016 comes to Rs. 47,250/-

10. Accommodation and Messing. Trainee officers will be accommodated in the Trainee Officers Hostel and they will dine in the Trainee Officers Mess. Each trainee officer is required to deposit Rs. 8,000/- as Mess Advance & Rs. 20,000/- as Canteen advance separately on arrival. In addition trainees must have sufficient cash (at least Rs.30,000/-) to meet the expenses till drawl of pay and allowances which normally takes 03 months time from reporting in the Academy. Private transport and pets are not permitted.

11. No private arms, ammunitions and valuables like jewellery, etc. should be brought by any trainee.

12. Recreation. Games and sports are integral part of training. Facilities for the following games are available in the Academy:-

                             (a) Badminton

                            (b) Basket Ball

                            (c) Foot Ball

                           (d) Tennis

                           (e) Volley Ball

                           (f) Hand Ball

                           (g) Mini Gymnasium is available for work outs.

13. Trainee Officers are advised to bring sports gear of their own, if available.

14. Laptops. Trainee officers are requested to bring their Lap Top. The same may be brought along personal usage.

15. Leave. Leave of any nature is not permitted during training. However two weeks of mid-term break will be given after the 25th week of training. Parents are requested to schedule events only during mid-term.

16. Visitors. Visitors are not allowed. Only exceptional case with prior permission from Principal Academy.

17. Marriage. Marriages are discouraged during the course of training. Families are not permitted during training. Married lady officers who are in the family way would not be able to cope up with the rigors of training and as such they are not permitted to join the training.

18. Pre Joining Acclimatization. Since trainee officers will be required to undergo physical exercise, they are therefore requested to practice walk and run upto 5 Kms. This will facilitate to avoid extra fatigue and injuries during initial training.

19. Inoculation and Vaccination. Every Trainee Officer is advised to get him inoculated for TB, Cholera, Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B. He is required to produce a certificate to this effect from an authorized Medical Officer at the time of reporting at the Academy.

20. Medical Fitness Certificate. Every Trainee Officer is required to get himself medically examined for fitness to undergo strenuous training; a certificate to that effect from authorised Govt. hosp dating within 4 weeks of joining shall be produced at the time of joining.

21. Medical Facilities. Medical facilities are available in the Academy.

22. Banking. State Bank of India and other nationalized banks are available in Gurgaon. ATM of State Bank of India is available inside the campus. ATMs of other leading banks are also available in nearby vicinity. Trainee Officers should still have sufficient cash with him while reporting.

23. You are requested to get an account opened in State Bank of India in your hometown or such area where your account can be managed easily to avoid delay in processing the case for drawal of salary. Also ensure to carry photo copy of 1st page of your SBI Account Pass Book while joining and after joining trainee will eligible for PMSP Scheme (Para Military Salary Package) to get benefit rendend by SBI to Paramilitary Organization.

24. You are also requested to have your PAN CARD in your possession at the time of joining as it is mandatory for all salaried Government Servants.

25. Expected Travel Plan and Arrival. Trainee Officers are to report to the CRPF Academy (date of joining). Those coming by train at New Delhi railway station should report at the reception counter in Transit Camp CRPF on Ajmeri Gate side and use Academy transport which will ferry you to CRPF Academy. Trainee Officers may also report directly to CRPF Academy at their own. Trainee officers may intimate their plan well in advance enabling the Academy to make necessary arrangements for reception and transport at the railway stations Delhi/Gurgaon.
