Fidayeen attack on CRPF Camp in Lethpora in J & K

Braving the midnight ‘fidayeen’ attack, CRPF troops have neutralized two terrorists in the Lethpora area of Jammu and Kashmir.  In the resultant gun battle, CRPF lost four of its brave soldiers while three others are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable. One terrorist is still holed up in one of the building in the campus. Efforts are being made to get at the terrorist at the earliest under the supervision of senior officers of CRPF.

This time the terrorists targeted the CRPF camp at Lethpora under the Pulwama district of South Kashmir, which houses the Pre-Induction Training Centre and the 185 battalion headquarters. Their intention was to inflict heavy casualty on the resting soldiers in the dead of the night. But the alert CRPF troops reacted quickly and cornered the terrorists to a small area where they had to take refuge in a nearby building. In the firing that ensued in the darkness of the night , the vigilant troops of CRPF could neutralize two of them while the remaining one was hiding himself in the building till reports last came in. In the indiscriminate firing resorted to by the terrorists, four CRPF jawans laid down their lives preventing the terrorists from materializing their nefarious design. During the day long operation, troops not only could neutralize two of the fidayeen but also succeeded in evacuating the captive residents of the nearby buildings to safety.
