Ops West Bengal Sector West Bengal Sector

About Sector

Office of IGP (Ops) West Bengal was created and Started functioning w.e.f 01/07/2010. Shri. Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS,  was the first  incumbent Inspector General of Police. 

Initially IGP (Ops) West Bengal had ops jurisdiction of 07  Bn i.e. 50, 66, 165, 167, 169, 184 Bn and 207 CoBRA deployed in the state of West Bengal. Consequent on declaration of IGP(Ops) West Bengal as Adm sector and sanctioned the post of IGP vide Dte. Genl. CRPF New Delhi order No.O.IV-21/2010-ORG dated 08/08/2012, the Office of the IGP(Ops) West Bengal was renamed as IGP West Bengal Sector w.e.f 08/08/2012. 

  • Shri Vivek Sahay, IPS is holding the charge of West Bengal Sector.
  • After Re-affiliation vide Dte. Genl. CRPF New Delhi Order No.O.IV-11/2012-Org. dated 16/10/2012, 01 Range, 01 GC and 50, 66, 165, 167 and 184 Bn, came into administrative jurisdiction of West Bengal Sector.
  • 108 supporting staff have been sanctioned vide MHA letter No.II-27012/30/2011-PF-III dated 29/11/2012 conveyed vide Pers Dte CRPF New Delhi signal No.O.IV-21/2010-Org. dated 30/11/2012. 
  • Presently IGP West Bengal Sector have the Administrative  and Operational command  over West Bengal Sector.
